INTERFERE was conceived and created as a hypothetical film series to be screened by and at Hollywood Theatre in Portland, OR, a local landmark with a national reputation for award-winning film programming. INTERFERE explores the relationship between emerging technology and the fear of its integration in our everyday lives. Japan was largely responsible for creating this subgenre of horror which became highly influential during the turn of the millennium, spawning numerous successful American remakes. Branding the visual language of INTERFERE was intended to evoke a feeling of interaction with intelligence from the other side of the digital threshold. Is this intelligence helpful, harmful, or somewhere in-between? That's for the viewer to decide...
